We Are Troop 219
Backpacking, camping, sailing, canoeing, whitewater rafting, tubing, climbing, caving, snorkeling, scuba diving, horseback riding, cycling, flying...we do all these things and more! We are a Troop of girls in the triad region of North Carolina that formed in February 2019, the first month girls were allowed to create Scouts BSA Troops. That's where our Troop number - 219 - comes from. We always have more room for girls to join our sisterhood. Come visit us and experience the fun of Scouting. We are led by the first four and only female Eagle Scouts of the Old North State Council.
Monday Night Meetings
Leading, Learning, Preparing
We gather every Monday night (7:00 - 8:30) at Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church. Our meetings are girl-led. We learn and practice leadership skills. We prepare for service projects. And, we plan our outings and develop the skills needed for these outdoor adventures. This is a great time for potential members to come visit and get to meet us.
Adventures
Having Fun Anywhere Outdoors
What don't we do! If you enjoy the outdoors, then we are the Troop for you. We are girl-led so we plan our own adventures. We have a team of over 40 experienced adults who provide the support we need to carry out our outdoor plans. We believe that if we can dream it, we can do it!
Service
Helping Other People at All Times
We begin each meeting by reciting the Scout Oath in which we pledge "to help other people at all times." We help our fellow Scouts by being good friends - by being as close as sisters. We help our community by making the lives of others better through our servant leadership.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
Eleanor Roosevelt
